Digital risks are no longer something that only large companies face. Cultural organizations also encounter them. A wrong click on a phishing email, a poorly secured system, or a weak password can already be enough. The consequences can be unpleasant: visitor data may leak, systems may temporarily fail, or important files may become inaccessible. This costs time, money, and trust.
That’s why it’s important to take measures in time. With the right basic agreements and a clear plan, many problems can be prevented. In this workshop, DEN helps you gain an overview and work step by step toward a secure digital work environment.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is specifically for:
- Anyone working in museums, theaters, heritage houses, festivals, and other cultural institutions

Cybercrime seems like something that happens to other organizations until you’re in the middle of it yourself. The British National Museum of Royal Navy and a Dutch library experienced firsthand what happens when systems fail, data is at risk, and no one knows the extent of the damage. Listen to episode 6 of DEN's podcast Cultuurshift season 3 to hear how they experienced these cyberattacks.
