During this one-day workshop "Impact Thinking and Measuring," you will learn to make impact concrete for your own organization. Using the Change Pathway Canvas, you will map out the desired change, target groups, and results. You will determine which indicators make that change measurable. You will conclude with a concrete impact story and next steps.
You want to make an impact, but where do you start? And how do you turn 'impact thinking' into action? In this one-day workshop, we introduce the key concepts of impact thinking.
What is impact?
Impact is about the change you bring about in society and goes beyond your operations. Consider it the big long-term goal that gives meaning and purpose to your work, as the driving force. For example, the mission of an organization for a more tolerant and inclusive society.
What will you do during the workshop?
You will learn the difference between activities, output, outcome, and impact and directly translate this to your own practice. Using the Change Pathway Canvas, you will connect the desired change, target groups, activities, and results. Then you will determine which indicators and research methods help to track and measure that change.
What will it deliver?
After the workshop:
- it will be clearer what change your organization wants to achieve for the public and stakeholders;
- you will have a concrete impact story for one or more of your own cases;
- you will know what you can measure and how to approach it practically;
- you will have concrete next steps to work more impact-oriented.
The workshop is interactive and practice-oriented: no impact plan to put in a drawer, but an approach you can immediately continue with.
The workshop aligns with the Self-study Module Impact Measuring (opens in new tab) by DEN.
