Why this workshop?
An AI policy provides direction for the use of AI in your organization. In this workshop, we will work on an approach where your organization's vision (on digital) and core values are central. Because an AI policy that aligns with your vision and core values is more future-proof and broadly supported.
Through discussions, exercises, and the AI Policy Step-by-Step Guide, we will work on an AI policy for your organization. You will learn from colleagues in the cultural sector and discover what works in practice. You will leave with a written AI policy for one topic.
The setup
- Preparatory assignment (approx. 2 hours). To get the most out of the workshop, we ask you to read the course material and gather information from your organization.
- Workshop (full day, on location). Hands-on with discussions and exercises. By the end of the day, you will know how to draft an AI policy and have a written text for one topic.
- Online exchange session (1 hour, online). Four weeks after the workshop, we will reconvene to exchange experiences, discuss issues, and learn from each other.

This workshop is intended for employees from all levels of cultural organizations, from management to policy, education, IT, communication, and marketing.
It helps to participate with two colleagues from different teams/departments. This way, you can brainstorm together and translate the insights into your own organization. Additionally, it is helpful to have a mandate from your management.

Why does my cultural organization need an AI policy?
An AI policy provides direction on how your organization uses artificial intelligence (AI). AI can do a lot, but not everything fits your organization. An AI tool can make errors in texts, images can unintentionally exclude groups, and collection systems can repeat sensitive information. With an AI policy, you establish how to use AI reliably, fairly, and sustainably. A policy that aligns with your vision and core values is more future-proof and widely supported.

For whom is the AI Policy and Ethics workshop intended?

You participate with at least two colleagues from the same organization, preferably from different teams. This way, you can brainstorm together and translate the insights into your own organization. It helps if your management gives you the mandate to work on the AI policy.

What does the workshop look like and what does it cost?
The workshop consists of three parts. First, you complete a preparatory assignment of about two hours. Then, the on-location workshop follows, including discussions, exercises, and DEN's AI Policy Step-by-Step Guide (opens in new tab). Four weeks later, you will participate in an online session to exchange experiences with other participants. Participation costs € 399 for two employees from the same organization (excluding VAT and € 1 service fee). The trainer is Daan Damen, project advisor at DEN.
